½ cup white sugar ¼ cup water


To make simple syrup: Put sugar and water in a small pot and heat it on the stove until the sugar dissolves. 

Then, pour it into a bowl and let it cool for about 15 to 20 minutes. 

To make the cocktail: Pour a bit of the simple syrup (about ¾ of an ounce), bourbon, lemon juice, bitters, and egg white into a big shaker. 

Close the shaker and shake it without ice for about 30 seconds. 

Next, add 3 ice cubes to the shaker, close it again, and shake it really hard until it's super cold and frosty on the outside, which should take about 45 seconds. 

Finally, strain the mixture into a glass with a big ice cube in it.
