Chopped Steak

– 1 pound ground beef – 1 large egg, lightly beaten – ¼ cup breadcrumbs – 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce – 1 teaspoon garlic powder – 1 teaspoon onion powder – ½ teaspoon smoked paprika – 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning – 1 teaspoon sea salt – ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

In a big mixing bowl, combine ground beef, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together well.

Cook the patties in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they're browned and fully cooked. Then, remove the patties to a plate and cover them with foil to keep warm.

Once melted, add thinly sliced onions and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook them until they're tender and caramelized, which should take about 5-7 minutes.

Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and onions, stirring constantly until they're well mixed and lightly browned.

Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Add marsala wine and let it simmer for 4-5 minutes until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Gently return the patties to the skillet, allowing them to warm in the gravy.
